Since the establishment of the HAITAI CONFECTIONERY AND FOODS Co., Ltd.(Haitai) Research
Laboratory in 1982, the company has done its best to continue its long tradition of
producing healthy products for Korean consumers by developing new and advanced technology
and innovative products.
In the rapidly changing confectionery industry, the Haitai Research Laboratory has
continuously researched and developed good quality products, competing with worldwide
products in the area. To strengthen Haitai's competitive advantage, the Research Laboratory
will continue to develop new technology, including an improved food manufacturing technology
that can adapt to the rapid changes of this industry.
Haitai continuously works to improve the quality level of its Research Laboratory through
core technology development, overseas research, education by professional institutions,
seminars, and joint researches with other institutions. Also, by expanding and upgrading the
current research facilities, Haitai is strengthening the foundation for advanced research,
as well as achieving a computerized information network.
Currently, the Research Laboratory is systematically carrying its basic science research to
increase the knowledge base for application to products. In particular, the Research
Laboratory is accelerating its research in preservatives and food colorings from natural
materials, and already have numerous patents in this area.
In addition to the internal developments, the Haitai Research Laboratory was designated as a
National Laboratory by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) on May 7, 1997. The
Haitai Research Lab, the first in the industry, was selected to test new materials and food
products in 47 categories (45 chemical, 2 biological), providing the test results and
analysis methodology for the benefit of others.
So far, the Research Laboratory is responsible for may diverse and innovative products
(Bravo Cone, Nougat Bar, Ace, Homerun Ball,
Matdongsan, Free Time, Acacia, Denti-Q,
Kohyang Dumplings etc). It also holds numerous patents and utility models that have
accumulated significantly over the years.
Using these achievements as a foundation, Haitai continues to develop innovative and
groundbreaking products and technology. In response to the industry's rapid technological
developments, the Haitai Research Laboratory will work on expanding its facilities as well
as improving internal standards in order to maintain the leadership in its field and to
positively contribute to the dietary lives of Korean
consumers.
