Founding & Legacy
Established on October 1, 1945, shortly after Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule, Haitai began as one of the first Korean food companies founded with domestic capital and effort.
Despite the severe social and economic hardship following independence, the company focused on product diversification and quality improvement. In 1947, Haitai received the “Good Product Award” at the Domestic Product Exhibition in recognition of its high-quality wafers and jelly products.
Growth and Expansion
From the 1960s through the 1990s, Haitai steadily expanded its manufacturing capacity and product portfolio. Major production facilities were established across Korea, enabling the company to produce a wide range of confectionery items including snacks, biscuits, candy, gum, and chocolate products.In 2010 and 2011, Haitai established joint ventures with leading Japanese companies, Calbee and Glico, and has continued to grow as a leading company in Northeast Asia.Through continuous facility expansion and technological advancement, Haitai strengthened its nationwide distribution network and market competitiveness.

Today, Haitai Confectionery & Foods operates multiple production plants and distribution networks across South Korea and exports its products to more than 60 countries worldwide.
